Help us keep new moms connected with their nurses through Nurse-Family Partnership

Wednesday Apr 15, 2020

Part of our ongoing series this month to support local charities is our focus on Nurse-Family Partnership. Nicole is joined by Michelle Warner from Nurse-Family Partnership in Colorado. Their home visiting program has been greatly affected by COVID-19. They have moved to 100% telehealth. Many of their clients don't have cellphone access. They have lost all access to their nurse at the most critical time in their lives - when they are preparing to have a baby. It's such an isolating time, but without a partner, alone, pregnant it's even more isolating. Anything we can do to help them is appreciated.  Verizon is donating up to 3800 phones across the country. Nationally N-FP has committed $500,000 to minutes to help these moms stay connected to have access to the social support they need. This was completely unbudgeted since it was so unexpected. They are turning to people to make donations to contribute to this cause.

Helping SECORCares in April - Feeding, supporting, training for our neighbors to help them succeed.

Wednesday Apr 01, 2020

During the month of April, The Rueth Team is matching donations to the four charities they are featuring. This is the first in that weekly focus. Please get to know Amy Pfister, Development Coordinator for SECORCares.  SECORCares is a 501c3 non-profit located in Parker, CO, but serving Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties. Their mission is to help those struggling with suburban poverty. The loss of a job, divorce, mounting medical bills, underemployment-things that happen every day in our community–can devastate a once comfortable home and family, and thrust them into suburban poverty. SECORCares offers a free food market where our guests can "shop" for their families and select those foods that they enjoy. They also assist with financial assistance, legal aid, counseling, job search assistance and more, all with the goal of helping our guests get back to self-sufficiency again. Most importantly, they offer a community and help restore dignity and hope in their lives! If you'd like to donate, please go here >
